A Family of Four

Paul and I are happy to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Connor Joseph, born June 1st at 7:48am weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. He is such a sweet little angel. The cesarean went perfectly well and our little boy emerged with beautiful color and screaming loudly for all to hear. A bit different from our experience with Landon's birth. Paul and the baby were able to join me in the recovery room this time. The only hiccup was that Connor's blood sugar levels were quite low after birth so he was given a little bit of formula and monitored that day. Everything was fine by the end of day 1.
Once again our stay at Winnie Palmer Hospital was very pleasant. Our wonderful families and a good friend came to visit us during our stay. Usually women who have c-sections have to stay at the hospital for 72 hours, but I was doing so well that my doctor gave me the option of being discharged a day early. So we took our baby home on Sunday afternoon.
Connor has been eating well and sleeping a whole lot. It's actually been a bit alarming to me... he'll go 5 hours at night and I'll have to wake him up for a feeding. Then back to sleep he goes for another 3 or more hours. This has been the pattern for the past two nights... we'll see what tonight brings. He is so tiny compared to our almost two year old Landon who now seems like a giant to me!
Speaking of Landon, he's been very good with Connor. He'll help when he can with little things and he likes to give him kisses on the top of his head. He calls him "Baby Connor" and loves to look at him. It's not all peaches and cream though. As expected, there have been some negative changes in Landon's behaviors. For instance, he's been crying every night/day before napping and bedtime. That started the first night PJ and I were at the hospital. It's gotten better; he only cries for about 1-2 minutes, but it's still painful. I'm confident this will pass soon. He's also been quite whiny lately. Like all day for every little thing. We're working on that as well.
On Wednesday PJ and I took Connor for his 5 day checkup. Everything is looking great! He is gaining weight and growing in length. We have another visit on June 15th. This is Connor when we got home from the doctor's. He napped in the car seat for almost an hour :).
We have been thoroughly enjoying our new little man. He has already changed in the one week he has been with us! Do you think he looks like his big bro?? Many people see similarities, as do I. But Connor came out with lots of dark hair. Time will tell!
We are so in love with our little muffin :)
Connor's first bath at home. He was not enjoying himself.
And here are some recent pictures of big brother Landon. He LOVES to play with his train set in his big boy room.
Meme bought Landon this bouncy horse. It's so funny when he's playing with it. He bounces up and down saying "boing, boing, boing!"
And if you didn't know, Landon is a HUGE fan of Elmo. Grandma and Nono recently got him this adorable Elmo bath towel that he loves to run around in after bath time. How cute is that?
