Being a mother is the most rewarding job in the world. There is no better feeling than when your child hugs you, kisses you, tells you "I ub ooo," asks to snuggle... the list goes on and on.
Watching them grow and change and LEARN makes every second of the hard work worth it. I find peace in what has been a roller coaster of emotions this month when I'm being a mom.
My other job (teacher) has brought on a ridiculous amount of stress these past few weeks. Originally I thought it was just me, being hormonal and all, overreacting to the work I was being handed. Until I observed all the people around me being effected in the same way. I won't get into the details, but it's just been too much and I've had a hard time dealing. Luckily, my Spring Break is in sight and I can look forward to 10 sweet days of much needed R&R.
A week ago from this past Friday I received a call from my husband in the morning saying not to worry, but that he was driving himself to the ER because he had fallen through the attic and cut his leg badly. WHAT!?! I didn't know what to do as I was stunned and in shock. Well, the minor panic quickly subsided and I immediately left work to meet him at the hospital not really knowing what to expect. Let's just say it wasn't good. It was so bad that the ER docs didn't think they could fix it and sent us to a Plastic Surgeon. As they prepared the area before starting to work on it (60ish running stitches)I had to witness my beloved husband in agonizing pain. All I could do was be there for him and give him the support he needed. We are now about 10 days after the accident and he is still laid up and quite restricted as far as movement goes, but he's healing and getting better. I've added a third job title to my resume now- Nurse Kennedy. Each morning I am lucky enough to have to give him an injection in his stomach to prevent blood clots. NOT FUN. But you do what you have to do. After all of this I just thank God that the outcome wasn't worse, because it could've been much, much worse.
Enough of the downers... the rest of this month will surely bring me happiness. As I said earlier Spring Break is on the horizon, PJ is getting better with each passing day, and I get to spend lots of time with my little guy very soon. We had fun this weekend too. Mimi and Titi came to help with the yard and washing the dog (PJ's normal household duties). They also prepared a wonderful Irish dinner yesterday for St. Patty's Day.
Yum! Yum! Corned beef, potatoes, carrots, and cabbage!
After the scrumptious meal we walked to the park in our neighborhood where Landon enjoyed himself tremendously.
