Yesterday was a big day for our furry son. Kingston, at 10 months old, got neutered. What a stressful day for mommy! I dropped him off at 7:30am and did a good job keeping busy the rest of the day as an attempt to keep my mind off of what was happening to our beloved pet. 2 loads of laundry, worked on my student's book project-(don't ask), got an oil change, read 3 chapters of my current book of choice, went shopping, and cleaned the floors. He did really great and was ready for pick up at 5:00pm. When PJ and I got him he was so shaky and crying and it just broke my heart.
So I thought all was well when we went to bed at 10:00, but I was mistaken. He woke us up at 1:00am by loudly licking himself, which of course is a BIG no-no. So I had to resort to the cone. Kingston didn't understand the cone. He was afraid of the cone. He didn't like the cone one bit. So mommy spent the next 4 hours trying to put him at ease and help him relax so that he could fall asleep. Success came at 5 o'clock in the morning. Needless to say, today I'm a little off. Luckily it's my Spring Break, so no work. I rest when he rests. What great practice for when baby arrives, right?
I'm 26 weeks pregnant now and still feeling great. Last weekend Paul, Kingston, and I enjoyed spending time at our friend's house out at the beach. Kingston had his friend Henry to play with. On Saturday night Paul and I went to a reggae festival on Cocoa Beach with a bunch of friends. At the request of the drunk people that accompanied me, we ended up at Denny's for a late night meal. That would be insignificant, except for the fact that this is where Paul felt the baby kick for the first time. 12:30am, sitting in a booth at Denny's. Too funny. He was elated. It was a special moment- no matter where we were.
This upcoming weekend we're headed down south to spend Easter with my parents. We haven't been down since Thanksgiving, so I can't wait! Happy Easter, everyone!
