Landon's Baptism

Last Sunday, January 16th, was a special day for the Kennedys. Our baby boy was baptized! Landon's grandparents, uncles and aunt, Great Uncle Danny, and a few of mommy and daddy's friends all got together to celebrate this wonderful occasion.

He was so well behaved throughout the ceremony and very interested in what was going on!

Happy Half-Birthday, Landon!

Okay, so we really didn't celebrate Landon's half birthday (on Dec. 30th), but he is six months old now. It is really strange to be out and about and see babies that are younger than him. It happens more and more often, and is just another reminder of how quickly time is passing. I feel like he should still be a little itty bitty helpless thing but instead he has grown into a big boy who can hold his head up, roll over, grab EVERYTHING, squeal with joy, sit and play, entertain himself, eat solid foods... the list goes on and on. This really is a fun age.
At Landon's doctor's visit this past week we found out that he is 18 lbs. 15 oz. and 27 3/4 inches long. He is a big boy, being in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for length. Our little man is growing so well! Nothing makes me happier than having a healthy baby. And boy is he a great eater. We have been introducing solids (homemade vegetable purees) for about a week and a half and he absolutely LOVES it! Right now he is eating cereal for breakfast and a veggie for dinner (only supplemental, of course). His main diet is still breast milk 7-8 times a day. We started with avacado, then butternut squash, and now we're on sweet potato. So far he has devoured the entire serving everytime- even the first time ever tasting it. The first time he ate sweet potatoes he even snatched the spoon out of my hands and shoved it in his mouth!
Yummy sweet potatoes!
Next week his sitter Iara will start feeding him a serving at lunchtime as well. I'm sure he'll be happy about that :).
Thanks to Santa Landon has many fun toys he likes to play with. He is still facinated with flashing lights and music. Maybe one day he'll play an instrument like his mommy!

And I'll leave you with a shot from earlier this evening at bathtime. He has so much fun splashing the water and putting rubber ducky in his mouth. This is the last time he'll be using the infant tub. He has graduated to the big boy tub! Yay Landon!!!
