6 Months Later

I thought maybe, probably 3 months, but 6?? Yikes.  Just goes to show how crazy fast time flies. Especially when you're keeping busy.  So let's quickly flashback and I'll give you little snips of our 2014 thus far.

This is a dear family friend's beach house.  Brand new and flippin' gorgeous.  In my previous post I shared pics of the last time we stayed here for Thanksgiving.  Well in the beginning of January PJ and I had a weekend getaway, just the two of us, to the relaxing town of New Smyrna Beach and we stayed here again.

Here we are at our favorite restaurant, which happens to be in New Smyrna, called The Garlic. They had just opened a new expansion of the restaurant and the ambiance is so wonderful!  That's part of the reason why we love it so much. :) Not to mention the incredible food.

In January is also when Connor got his hair cut for the first time.  He's still sporting the shaggy do but it's just a little cleaner.  We've gotten it cut 2 more times since.

Landon got his bike from Grandma and Nono for his 3rd birthday, but it took a while for him to warm up to it.  He's definitely the more cautious one of our two sons.  He loves riding it now.  Here's his first successful spin around the cul-de-sac in January.

And I just had to document his first lizard catch. :)  So proud :)

February was a crazy month.  In the beginning we were visited by our good friends from GA.  They have a 4 year old daughter and at the time their son was just 4 months old.  It was fun to snuggle a baby again!

In mid February is when Paul donated his kidney to one of his best friends.  No words can really express what that whole experience was like.  Simply incredible.  I have never been as proud of my hubs as in that moment.  It was really rough for him the first couple of days following the surgery, but he quickly returned to normal.  And his friend is now living a happy, HEALTHY life with his wife and 1.5 year old son.  Our families get together as often as possible. :)

March consisted of birthday parties and more NS Beach visits.

In April we went to Coral Springs to help mom celebrate her 60th birthday!  The two of us took the boys to a park for pony rides.  Too cute!

I hosted Easter this year.  It was easy for my first time preparing a Holiday meal because it was just us, my parents, and my brother.  They boys had fun hunting for eggs in the backyard.  And Landon got to help Grandma make a special bunny cake!

On May 31st we celebrated the wedding of Paul's brother HJ and my now SIL Alaina.  It was GORGEOUS!  Everything about it.  And our two little love muffins were ring bearers.  They were ADORABLE!  I didn't have any pictures on my computer, but for my next post (hopefully sooner than 6 months from now) I'll try to include some.  Connor's 2nd birthday was on June 1st and Landon's was just on June 30th, so we decided to celebrate the boys birthday together with a big backyard party in the middle of the month.  Lots of friends and family came to play with the boys at their Monsters Inc. themed bash.

Thanks for the amazing cake again, Mom!

The entertainment for the afternoon.  Boy did the kids have a blast!

The boys have their 2 and 4 year checkups in mid July.  We have thoroughly been enjoying our summer and keeping busy with daily swim lessons, bowling outings, splash pads,  open gym, lots of pool time, and play dates.  This Friday we'll celebrate the 4th with great friends.  We also have plans to go back to New Smyrna for 5 days or so with more birthday parties in between.  If I haven't mentioned it before, I LOVE SUMMER!

Rewind...

The new year begins in two days.  How exciting!  But I will hold on to these fun memories of the end of 2013 for many years to come.  And if by chance I should forget, I can always look back at these entries from our family blog.

For Halloween this year my mom made a monkey (Curious George) and banana costume for the boys.  It was a hot night, but we had so much fun trick or treating with our munchkins.

After almost an hour, Landon was ready to head home but not our little man Connor!  Boy did he throw a fit when we brought him inside!

This year we had to give a shout out to the UCF Knights on our pumpkin.  Woot, woot!!!

Thanksgiving was spent with the Kennedys this year.  We stayed at our great family friend's brand new beach house in New Smyrna Florida.  We rode our beach cruisers, discovered a few awesome playgrounds, and relaxed.

Landon helped auntie Alaina cook breakfast one day.

This park was so pretty.  The cove in front of Connor is home to many manatees and dolphins that the boys witnessed splashing and playing around.

It's tradition to have someone 'tickle the turkey' before it goes into the oven on Thanksgiving morning.  They boys would only observe.

We found another fun playground right on the beach as we cruised on our bikes Thanksgiving morning.

Meme, Titi, and Landon make the best sand castles. :)

Our winter break started over a week ago, and down to Coral Springs we went to hang with the Campagnanos.  The trip went by quickly.  One day we took the boys to The West Palm Zoo.

They loved seeing all of the animals.  And Connor- well he refused to be strapped into his stroller the whole time we were there!  He just walked and walked and walked around everywhere.  He's getting so big.

I love this picture.  Landon is amazed at the sight of the very large alligator behind the glass.

And that brings us to Christmas morning.  It was classic.  Landon is 3 1/2 (today is his half birthday :)) and he was so freakin' excited!  It was TOO cute.  Luckily Paul caught it on video.

All he kept asking for was a roller coaster... and the very first gift he picked to open was a new Hot Wheels roller coaster!  It was definitely a hit.

When we got back we took the boys to Sea World.  They have fun holiday shows and the park is all decorated.

We saw the cutest Elmo/Sesame Street show.  Even Connor sat and paid attention the whole time!

Sadly we didn't get to explore the new penguin ride at the park because the line was 90 minutes long. :(  Maybe next time...

Today I took them to the Science Center.  We met our friends Kelly and Mason there.  It's such a great way for them to learn and explore new things!

Planes, trains, and automobiles!

Dinosaur exhibit

Energy!

And tomorrow we're off to Jacksonville for Christmas part 3.  We'll ring in the new year there, too.  2014- here we come!  XOXO
