Finding Our Groove

Being at home with my two boys has brought me so much joy. I've been on my own since Connor was a week and a half old (tomorrow will be 4 weeks already!) and I feel like for the past couple of days things are falling into place. Landon has adjusted to having a baby in the house and having to share mommy's attention. He no longer cries for naps/going to bed and he doesn't whine anymore (thank goodness!). He has also become more patient and understands that when Connor is eating or crying or needing me in any way that I have to tend to the baby and he's okay with it. I can honestly say that we've reached a point where things are going smoothly. It's a great feeling.

As I said earlier Connor is already approaching the one month mark. When he was two weeks old we had another visit with the doctor. He is growing like a weed! He eats VERY well :) Breastfeeding has been so easy this time around! Here are his 2 week stats:

Weight: 7 lbs. 9 oz.

Length: 21 1/2 inches! (grew 2 in. in 2 weeks)

Hair: brown

Eyes: dark blue

Clothes: NB, 0-3 months

Sleep: 5 1/2 hours at night! I only have 1 nighttime feeding at 3 am :)

Overall a content baby. Likes to be held over my shoulder while getting a back rub.

We have his 1 month check up on July 5th, so I'll be posting again in a week or so.

Landon has had to gain a little more independence with a few little things- like getting into his booster chair for meals and eating without any help from me. Often at lunchtime Connor and Landon are both ready to eat at the same exact time so I'll be feeding Connor on the couch while Landon sits at the table eating his lunch. Well, as we all know Landon is an exceptional eater and he nearly always clears his plate. He seems to have gotten into the habbit of licking his plate/bowl clean if I don't clear the table before then which of course leads to an even bigger mess for me to tend to. The following picture is an example of what I mean :)

"Chackup." Or as we call it ketchup. Such a silly goose! I've felt bad, us being couped up in the house not being able to go anywhere. But Landon knows how to make the best of it. He does have TONS of toys and we've been playing with all of them. As long as I see that beautiful smile on his face, I know he's having a good time. Even if we are just hanging around the house :)

And here is the newest addition to the family- our 2011 GMC Acadia! Yay! It's a beaut! Don't get me wrong, I've had a good time with Paul's red truck over the past 2 years. But my new mommy car is much more my style! :) It's nice and big and will be with us for many years to come. I look forward to things like family trips and taking the boys to their sports practices and games. For now I pretty much just get to look at it sitting in the driveway since I don't go anywhere, but with Connor already being a month old that is soon to change.
