Yesterday was a big day for our furry son. Kingston, at 10 months old, got neutered. What a stressful day for mommy! I dropped him off at 7:30am and did a good job keeping busy the rest of the day as an attempt to keep my mind off of what was happening to our beloved pet. 2 loads of laundry, worked on my student's book project-(don't ask), got an oil change, read 3 chapters of my current book of choice, went shopping, and cleaned the floors. He did really great and was ready for pick up at 5:00pm. When PJ and I got him he was so shaky and crying and it just broke my heart.
So I thought all was well when we went to bed at 10:00, but I was mistaken. He woke us up at 1:00am by loudly licking himself, which of course is a BIG no-no. So I had to resort to the cone. Kingston didn't understand the cone. He was afraid of the cone. He didn't like the cone one bit. So mommy spent the next 4 hours trying to put him at ease and help him relax so that he could fall asleep. Success came at 5 o'clock in the morning. Needless to say, today I'm a little off. Luckily it's my Spring Break, so no work. I rest when he rests. What great practice for when baby arrives, right?
I'm 26 weeks pregnant now and still feeling great. Last weekend Paul, Kingston, and I enjoyed spending time at our friend's house out at the beach. Kingston had his friend Henry to play with. On Saturday night Paul and I went to a reggae festival on Cocoa Beach with a bunch of friends. At the request of the drunk people that accompanied me, we ended up at Denny's for a late night meal. That would be insignificant, except for the fact that this is where Paul felt the baby kick for the first time. 12:30am, sitting in a booth at Denny's. Too funny. He was elated. It was a special moment- no matter where we were.
This upcoming weekend we're headed down south to spend Easter with my parents. We haven't been down since Thanksgiving, so I can't wait! Happy Easter, everyone!
Poor Kingston. He'll be feeling better in no time. How exciting that Paul got to feel the baby, that is such a special moment :) Glad you guys are doing good, have fun this weekend.
ReplyDeletelol the beloved radar. Solo is in one now (which happens often for her!) She won't stop chewing the sores on her foot. So, we have it on a lot as well. They get used to it. Although I don't know that the walls and furniture do. You look adorable! I miss you guys! give little man a nudge for me :0)
